About Harold Nolte

1424199725_JSB3An academic administrator with more than three decades of experience, Harold Nolte is the interim president of Dodge City Community College. He was selected by the college’s board of trustees in early July 2015 and is expected to keep this position from three to six months and possibly longer. Before accepting this post, Harold Nolte had retired following his role as district president of Blinn College in Texas, a position he had held since 2011. During his time there, he was executive administrator of the board of trustees and was responsible for such accomplishments as the development of a memorandum of understanding with Baylor University and of new strategic plans. In addition, he led the college through a successful reaffirmation of accreditation in 2014.

Dr. Nolte prepared for his career by earning a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a master’s degree in counseling from Baylor University. He began working for South Plains College as director of student activities shortly after finishing graduate school and later went on to hold such positions as dean and vice president for student services at Navarro College. He also served as district vice president for student services at Edison Community College. Harold Nolte returned to his education twice, first to acquire a doctor of education in educational leadership and again to earn a postdoctoral leadership certificate
